While the below is applicable to the forum, it is applicable to the Wiki as well for all intents and purposes.
This web site tracks visitors with standard server log files which every web server uses to gather basic information such as pages served, IPs of requestors, etc. I do not sell or in any way communicate these log files to any person or any company for any reason.
About Email Addresses: The Cove Forums require a valid e-mail address from anyone who wants to register. You do have to register to start new threads (topics), not to mention access to other forum software functions and features. Registering allows you to edit your posts, works the 'NEW MESSAGE' icon and many other things.
The email address you register with is not made public in any way. You can, however, make your email address available to the public by putting it in your User profile. I don't care if you make your email address public, but I take NO Responsibility for spam or other unwanted email you may end up receiving because an email gathering 'bot' has scraped your email address from your User Profile.
Note that I do NOT sell or give away e-mail lists nor do I send 'spam', advertisements or anything else to registered users (or anyone else, for that matter) with the exception of a News Letter which is very, VERY infrequent (its been a couple of years now...) And which can be opted out of (see Elsmar Cove News Letter and How to 'Opt Out' of the Elsmar Cove News Letter) if once every year or so is too frequent for your taste... ;)
Cookies: If/When you register, several Cookies will be set on YOUR computer. Cookie information is kept on your computer, NOT on my server. My software / server does no analysis on cookie data / contents except the vBulletin software which 'works' the icon for new messages and other forum software processes.
Cayman Business Systems (Me, Marc, aka The Elsmar Cove) does not sell, give away or in any way reveal / communicate any information about anything to any person, any company or any other entity inclusive of log files, e-mail addresses and cookie information.
Nothing. Nada. Period...
Personally, I'm not a paranoid sort so I don't get real excited about 'cookies' web sites, web site tracking services, etc. set on my computer. Here, on this server, cookies are necessary for some of the software to function. That's just the way it is. I don't track cookies in any way.
Let's talk Cookies from external sites.
All this said, this is the internet. If you're expecting 'total' privacy you're dreaming. To me this is essentially a personal paranoia issue.
Copyright Policy - Copy *Free*
Revised 20 November 2011
Except for some documents in the Paid Subscription Access directories and the $ Contributor sub-forum, everything on the Elsmar Cove is "Copyright *Free*". If you use information from the Elsmar Cove, we do appreciate your citing the source, however, in one way or another.
If you post in the Forums (this includes files and/or pictures attached to any post in a discussion thread or in blogs or picture albums, etc) you do *not* have a right to assert copyright claim(s) now or in the future. We don't assert that we own the rights to post content, including files and/or pictures attached to posts (or in blogs or picture albums, etc). However, once you post or you attach a file, you agree not to come back at a later date and require me to remove your post(s) and/or attachments(s) for copyright or other reason(s). This is a free system and my policy is to NOT be a money grubbing type with lawyers at hand, but rather to be a free resource for folks. If the contents of your posts, files and/or pictures attached to posts or in blogs or picture albums, etc. are 'golden' to you, I suggest you post elsewhere or write a book and sell it. If you post here, your question(s) and any and all answers to questions(s), as well as any attachments you contribute, are essentially in the public domain. Essentially it is simply a matter of understanding that anyone who posts and/or attaches a file in the forum can not come back at a later time and demand that I remove their post(s) and/or attachment(s). By posting and/or attaching one or more files in the forum, the person is granting the Elsmar Cove the right(s) (if you will) to keep the content posted.
Also, please see the Elsmar Cove forum TOS (Terms of Service) for additional details.

Disclaimer: I'm Not Associated With Them...
As it turns out, there is another Cayman Systems (wouldn't you know it) - A router and broadband company as I understand it, and their lawyers wrote me a pretty nasty letter threatening a lawsuit in 2000. Basically they said everything with the word 'Cayman' in it is their copyright because they've copyrighted the word / name 'Cayman'. Do read the complaint. It's a real grabber...
Be it known that Cayman Business Systems (aka Cayman Systems International, aka Cayman Systems and The Elsmar Cove) is thankfully in NO way associated with the Cayman Systems router people. I don't have anything to do with the manufacture or design of router systems, and they don't have a Quality Assurance and Business Systems forum and web site. I will say their lawyers are billing them for time for really stupid claims. I'd say the Cayman Systems upper management must be stupid to be paying lawyers to be harassing a little 1 person 'company' like me over using the name (**NAME**) Cayman in my company name when my business in no way resembles their business. I wonder how their stock is doing... Obviously their lawyers are doing quite well ;)
