Question about 2012 ASQ CQE certification primer vs 2006 primer

I am taking the ASQ's CQE certification exam soon and I am wondering if the 2012 primer is absolute requirement or would the 2006 primer suffice for the exam? I have the 2006 primer and I don't want to purchase the 2012 primer if it isn't necessary. If anyone is familiar with both versions of CQE primers by Quality Council or if anyone has taken the test after 2012 with the earlier primer and passed can weigh in with their opinion I would appreciate it. I don't know what edition of the CQE primer I had but I think I got it in 2009-10 (definately pre-2012) when i took an aweful prep course and I finally used it (to pass) when I got around to taking the exam in December 2013. I found 95% of the stuff I needed in it (and went to a stats book for the rest). The index in the back is a godsend.
