Re: Tips on how to test air and improve air quality - What is a Positive Air? Food Sa
To continue on what mguilbert had on the biologicals also consider the particulate counts (particles in the air ie… dust). It’s usually ranked by both quantity (count) and size (under 5micron, 5-10, 10-50, 50-100, greater than 100). You can hire it out or do it yourself but it takes a little more work / equipment.
I read the linked post but to put it in simpler terms…your plant is (east) next to the sewage treatment plant, which way do you want the wind to blow? It’s all about creating enough air flow (filtered air in your case) in one area so that you know where the air is going so that it doesn’t want to flow the opposite direction and drag all the junk from the other areas into the area you’re trying to keep clean.
A better real life example is having positive air pressure (did need strict control) in the oily machining area so that the carbon black (powder/dust) used in the in the other half of the building didn’t get sucked through into the equipment.
