Military / Police / EASA Regulations and Requirements

Can anyone define where the EASA regs end and Military regs take over, and where do police / coastguard fit into this?

We are a manufacturer of military equipment who are being asked to supply into the emergency services / commercial arenas and need to educate the business on commercial requirements.

The first question our people ask is "how do we know where this requirements apply" Answer "it isn't clear", will not wash - help please !!!

This is an interesting question. What sort of equipment are you supplying? Narrowing that down would aid me in a Google search.

its best described as surveillance equipment, ie cameras / displays / downlinks and associated "stuff" (encryption s/ware)

If the aircraft your equipment is fitted on is registered on the civil register in a EASA member state, EASA certification rules apply. Police, Coastguard and Emergency aircraft operations typically fall under FAA/EASA regulations.

Hope that helps
