Excel Project Gantt Chart Template - Data dissapears at certain timeline

Hi,

I have downloaded a free template from the internet of an excel project template. The template works and has all the formulas in for a lengthy project, however once it gets past the fourth week the information is whited out. It seems like the template has some coding or formula on to autimatically white out the information after week 4. I am using Excel 2007.

Could anyone help me in having this removed? feel free to use the template to.

Hi,

This is a great template! However, I really need it to be able to go beyond 32 weeks. Has anyone been able to adjust it so it could be used for longer projects?

Thanks!

There is a way to make it go past 32 weeks, however, there are a few catches. Excel up to 2003 only allowed you to go up to column "IV" which means you could only go up to 35 weeks anyways.

With Excel 2007/2010, you can go much further. I have attached a version which is an Excel 2010 .xlsx file that allows up to 90 weeks (that is as much as the source field would let me enter, see below).

In order to change the options in the drop down menu, select the cell that contains the drop down menu (H8) and go to the Data tab and select Data Validation. Under the Settings tab, you will see a box labeled Source. That is where you can enter what shows up in the drop down box.

You also need to change the data validation for G7 to allow more than start date + 224 days if you wish to go past 32 weeks. This is for manually entering an end date.

In order to make it all work, you need to copy and paste the formulas from the cells that show the week information as far out as you need to go. I have pasted the formulas so everything should work up to 90 weeks.

I also added conditional formatting to all the weeks past week 12 so the bottom borders show up if the week is displayed. Please let me know if there are any issues with this version or if anything else needs to be changed!

Although I didn't design the chart, it looks to me like WD is working days for the give task (based on your work week, Mon-Fri, Mon-Sat, etc.). DC is days since the start date (negative being the day hasn't been reached yet). DR is days remaining until the end date (negative being already past the specified end date).
