One of our supplier does not agree to check AS9102 Form 1 item 19 FAI complete /Not Complete Box. there argument is :
"As stated, the instructions for filling out Form 1, block 19 states “Also check appropriate box IF this FAI is complete per 5.4”. It also states in the block 19 instructions “2) if this FAI is complete per 5.4, check as appropriate.”
“Section 5.4 Nonconformance Handling:
The FAI is not complete until the Organization closes all non-conformances affecting the part and implements corrective actions. The Organization shall re-do an FAI for those affected characteristics and shall record the results.”
It is the position of AAAAA as well as our AS9100 registrar that if no non-conformances are associated with the parts then neither block is to be checked. If there had been a non-conformance a rejection number would have been placed on Form 3, Block 11 and when the customer accepted the non-conformance the acceptance number would have been listed in the adjacent Block number 14. At that time the Block “FAI complete” would have been checked to indicate that the non-conformance was closed".
