Borescope Mentor Visual IQ Gage R&R

We are currently using the Mentor Visual IQ to measure defect depth within metal tubing (undercut specifically). Our customer has asked us to perform a gage R&R on this device, much to our dismay we have found this to be very much unrepeatable/reliable. So my question is two part:
#1 does anyone have any suggestions on best practice(s) to perform this R&R with this device?
# does anyone have suggestions on how to eliminate reflection/flare within the image?

Welcome to the Cove. As a newly registered user, you have to make 5 posts before you can post an attachment (a drawing of part geometry would be helpful). In the meantime, while you get your # posts up, can you tell us more about the problem? Please describe the geometry in simple terms. Is the metal tubing cold-drawn? How is the undercut made in the part? How are the parts oriented and fixtured to measure? You say the part is unrepeatable. Was this based on a 10x3x3 R&R study? Can you summarize results from the study?

Yes. Was the problem mostly reproducibility, repeatability or both. The full analysis would be helpful.
