The absolute best way is to not generate it to begin with.......this is what "prevention of pollution" truly means, it's the spirit of 14001 and a primary committment in your policy.........
"Prevention of Pollution" is a front of the pipe approach to reducing or elimination adverse environmental impact through determining and using alternative solutions (process or material).
Front of the pipe solution may involve investment, but the potential to offset that investment with longterm cost avoidance or savings and reduced environmental impact is real

Randy's absolutely right. Prevent it or minimize it.
One way to start is to review the entire process and determine how the waste is being produced in the first place. Is it equipment, labor, materials, work scheduling, scrap etc.?
This is most effective when done by someone knowledgeable in the process, spending time on the floor.

There are many types of paint - water based, solvent (various types) based and resin types. Which type are you referring to?
I'll start by identifying the type of waste generated from the paint and then a visit to the relevant departments to understand their requirements before making further decisions.
