I have a very strong dislike of sharepoint. My experience with it has been that it is (internally) advertised as a "awesome central repository where we can all work collaboratively and find the information we need" in the way that a communal dormitory kitchen is an "awesome central collaborative workspace where we can all find the things we need to make great meals!"
Eventually the kitchen is a mess, with half-done tasks and people getting in each others way.
If sharepoint needs to work like a Michelin star kitchen, it has to be run like one. Most people don't have the stomach for working in that sort of environment.
