Purchasing a Portable CMM to Measure a 14' Cylinder that's 5' Tall

I am looking into purchasing a portable CMM. I used a FARO 12' Gold about 10 years ago. I need something at least that big to measure a 14' cylinder that's 5' tall. Tolerancing is as tight as 0.015" on some other applications.

Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.

Personally i prefer the FARO's platinum or they have a new carbon fiber model. The joints are much my fluid and less clunky than the older silver's and gold's and the Romer's.

I have used all of those so i speak from experience. The FARO software is fairly simply to use, but a little less robust than PC-DMIS that is offered with a Romer. But the probe cal is a PITA on the Romer as you do it outside of PC-DMIS where as the FARO is all inclusive and the software was made for the arm and not adapted to be used with the arm.

An arm would probably be suitable for the .015" tolerance.
