Does anyone have experience with online quality work for extra income, such as Upwork?

I see alot of "jobs" requiring me to purchase a product to review. This looks like a scam to me.

I will not respond often, but please let me know what your experience is.

A legitimate gig would never require you to purchase anything unless they are contracted to reimburse. They should be paying for the product and your review; I did mystery shopping some years back. While I did purchase the meal at the time so I would look like any other customer, reimbursement was part of the pay package.
