I am kind of new to PPAPs and I have a question about doing FMEAs for top level parts with several component parts. Should i be doing FMEAs on each component part or only the top level part?
Yes and yes. You would do a FMEA for the individual components (presuming you manufacture them) and an FMEA for the final assembly....you may wish to tie-in the component level FMEAs as your 'DET' control for various failure modes in the assembly.
