Product Release Risk Assessment - Ideas Wanted

Vehicle is the Product, in our case. Before launch of a Vehicle to the market, the Top Management would like to understand the Quality Risk associated with the project. They prefer to see a Dashboard that would encompass the Risk details, based on which the decision to launch the Vehicle could be made.

As far as my knowledge goes, Risk details would essentially include Number of tests failed but action not taken, DFMEA results such as S, SO ratings, recommended actions pending, Number of Validations planned but not conducted, etc. The fact that one Vehicle contains more than 1500 parts is making things more complicated.

I look forward to some ideas and experience sharing on this front.

Thanks Alberto san. Thats a good bet. Normally market survey is performed before start of a vehicle program. Inputs from such surveys go in as part of the design inputs. But to measure how far it is taken care could contribute the risk details.

I am also interested in how the system is taken care in other industries. Example, a medical device promoted to the market with absolutely no quality risk is a distant possibility, i can afford to assume. These risks are captured in FMEA kind of tools. But in the end how is it brought to the notice of the signing authority.
