In requirement c) the term "resources" seems vague. Can anyone provide clarification?

For your quick reference, Clause 8.5.1.5 Total productive maintenance reads, "The organization shall develop, implement, and maintain a documented total productive maintenance system. At a minimum the system shall include the following: a), b), c) provision of resources for machine, equipment, tooling, and gauging.", d) etc...

:thanx:

Until you find that "resources" mean people, infrastructure (e.g. building), machines and tooling, maybe it would be still vague. Packaging and preservation applies to period while manufacturing equipment "rests" and transported from and to work station to be used.

Good Afternoon, I was wondering if anyone could please give me a better understanding on what they are asking when it comes to ( Provision of resources for the machine, equipment, and facility maintenance. I have IATF Audit coming up in 2 weeks. I'm just trying to understand exactly how I will cover this part of the standard. Any input would greatly be appreciate it. Thank you !

You have an audit in 2 weeks and don't know how to address this clause? Best of luck.

Clauses 7.1.xx provide you precisely what the definition of resources is and what you are required to have in place.

Example: You must have people that can perform preventive maintenance activities.

Typically they will have you fill out this form amonth ahead of the audit. Another good thing to point to would be contingency plan. That should have your plan for staffing, machine failure, facility maintenance.

Hope that helps
