Dear all,

i have a few plants prepared for IATF 16949, but still is problem with organization context. It seems, that we are using not a good form for it. Can someone sent to me a form (if possible not empty) which was already audited without nonconformity? Thank you for your reply.
:thanks:

You don't need a "form". The best place to discuss, define and document the Context of the organization is in Management Review. If someone thinks it's a form-filling exercise, then they probably don't understand section 4

Hello,

It is not really mandatory to have a form or individual document on organizational context.
The context can be defined in several documents with different content, like:
- Quality manual
- Compant strategic plan or business plan
- Market analysis or competitor analysis
- Company SWOT analysis
- Management reviews
etc.

The important thing is: you should know in which documents or process you have defined your organizations context.

We passed IATF 16949 certification audit with this practice.

Of cource it is good if you combine all in one document.

Best Regards,
Johnson

Hello Johnson, AndyN,

it is so..., really :) , section 4 is for me somethink like alchemy :D, what i will say, i need help, how to implement it. Context, some SWOT analysis (strenght sites, oportunities, weakness and theats) and interested parties. I do not know what all should i describe inside... people, legislacy, surrounding aspects..., dont know. If you have some idea how to put it in one form :bonk:

Firstly - YOU don't do this. MANAGEMENT need to do this. I'd suggest you facilitate a SWOT analysis with your upper management. They need to understand that it's the QMS which is going to be used - through planning (section 6.0) to address the risks and opportunities. Also, they need to define who they believe are the interested parties of the QMS.

I always worry when one person think they, alone, have to do this and in doing so, completely lose the opportunity to engage management in the use of the management system. We'll never get them onboard if individuals think it's their job to do all this stuff...

AndyN,
How true you speak, however, my experience has been in the many organizations I have had the pleasure to be Quality Manager/Director is that Quality becomes the lead for many activities regardless that a "team" should develop x, y or z program/project. That being said we passed our ISO 9001:2015 audit recently but we too must work on the Context of the Organization. Am still putting the finishing touches on our SWOT which the owner was key in its development, however, it is now my task to put all his brainstorming into a manageable format for our registrar.

The context clause is not a record display clause.
Its done at a strategic, tactical and operational level.
Make a process or procedure or system for business review and incorporate how the organization shall identify issues with help of parameters affecting your business.
put the risks value in front of them and mitigate it
