IEC60601-2-44 - Indicator Light Requirement

In the IEC60601-2-44, 203.6.4.2 there is a statement :
"The LOADING STATE shall be indicated by a yellow indicator light"
does an indication on a LCD screen can be accounted for or should it be actual light source like a light bulb or led ?

I don't know for -2-44, but for other standards, the use of pixel based display as an indicator light is possible.

Although it's possible, personally I would be wary of using a pixel based display for an indicator. Even as I'm writing this there is bunch of stuff happening on this screen (gif's moving etc). My brain is being trained to ignore it all and keep typing.

Typically a PC based control screen will have a things changing all the time (e.g. mA, kV, status indication etc), and will anyhow have a similar level of brightness, so an on-screen indicator will be easy to overlook.

A simple, separate, indicator lamp is obviously going to be far more effective.

dear peter:
i have also notice that the requirments for indictaor light are different between iec 60601-1 and iec 60601-2-x(e.g. -2-44,-2-54,-2-45)

"201.7.8.1 Colours of indicator lights
Addition:
The indication of X-RAY related states shall be excluded from subclause 7.8 in the general
standard. Subclauses 203.6.4.2 and 203.6.4.101 shall apply instead."

"203.6.4.2 Indication of LOADING STATE
Addition:
The LOADING STATE shall be indicated by a yellow indicator on the CONTROL PANEL"

a yellow indicator instead of indicator light.
there is no definition of indicator light. and also in iec 60601-1-8,there is a note which said that "an indicator light can be simulated ,e.g. by a graphical display"

in summary ,from my point of view. in IEC 60601-1 ,the indicator light refer to a unit like described in iec 62094-1. but in iec 60601-2-x or -2-8, when the "indicator" used, we can also used simulated graphical display ,but the "indicator light " used, we can only use indicator light and simulted graphical display is not permitted.

can you give me the clarification?
thank you.
