My copy of the 60601-1 standard is outdated (IEC, 2005), so I'm looking to purchase an updated version. Trouble is, there are several versions to choose from... Background: markets are US, Europe, Canada.
Options are (please let me know if there are others..):
Given that these are really expensive (and, presumably, most of the content is identical amongst them), I'd like to just buy one.
I was thinking I could select the one that is the most strict, so we can just reference the one with the strictest requirements, and presume conformity to the rest.
To anyone with knowledge of the differences: Is this a reasonable approach?
Otherwise, is there a way to know the differences, so I can just purchase the base (IEC) standard, and note the deviations?
Any advice much appreciated!
