Managing Internal/External RNC and Complaints in same Format

Hi everybody

Recently I have been involved in defining a method to manage RNC´s, please help me to define what is better.

In 8.3 (9001 2008) non conforming product.
The idea it is to identify and control product which is not in conformance, so that cant reach the client.

For this , I have a procedure and a RNC format.

In such format, I also have defined what is done, the disposition: rework, scrap, return to supplier, deviation with authorization, also we include the costo of NC.

Ok but this is Internal and is filled up when has not been sent to client.

But when we sent product to clients and they detected the bad product,
normally they send us a compliance into an email, then
we proceed to fix it by doing an AC, but we dont use a RNC format.

Is there a special format for this (when detected by client?)
could I use the same internal format I have, just adding a field (client)?

How do you manage the RNC´s, once bad product is detected in client´s office.

I don't understand completely what you're asking about. I'm assuming that NC is nonconformity. Please define what RNC and AC mean in your company.

Rnc=non conformity report , AC = corrective action,nc= non conformance

In general, I am a fan of simplicity. If you can use one stone to kill two birds, and still accomplish all of the internal and external requirements, go for it.

The key things in my opinion are making sure that the system is user-friendly, you have the right information captured, and it's not adding unnecessary work.

I agree with Kronos147. If you can use the existing form for both, and it won't add extra work, use it for both.
