I would like to know wheather ISO is applicable to Hotel Industry as well, and is there any other specific standard applicable.

May I also have a look at some existing sample of Manual/procedure.

Thanking in anticipation

Vimal :)

Re: Q/A in Hotel Management

Yes, it is.

ISO 9001:2008 - 1.2 Application
All requirements of this International Standard are generic and are intended to be applicable to all organizations, regardless of type, size and product provided.

The attachment is good to get a basic idea. Thank you. I need more detailed manual/SOP, looking forward for more help. :thanks:

Thanks :thanks:

How much more detailed? If you are looking for something you can use without much additional work, it's very unlikely you'll find it here - the idea of creating the documentation is that it is specific to a praticular organization, not a 'copy' of what someone else does.....

This is were many people fail in implementation - they 'copy' someone else's manual! It's worth putting in the work to define a system that is what the hotel (or whatever) does.

You are SO right, Andy. Excellent advice. :applause:

Looking at someone else's manual can be useful to get some idea of what someone else has done ... but the idea is to write something that works for you. Not just copy.

(Unless you do things exactly the same as everyone else?? Never seen this yet :nope: Nor have I seen any 'just copy this manual and you're fine' work either! And I've been working in and around this business for many years now.)

Perhaps I used wrong words to attract your remarks. I do not intend to 'copy' someone's manual, but the information made available in the links is far from being sufficient to give skeleton of idea.

I do not intend to copy. A copy does not/can not work in the 'Hotel Industry', because every hotel functions differently. There may be common skeleton/frame but there can't be common procedures. You too got me wrong.

Very glad to hear this.

You've already grasped the main point - congratulations. Because what you say about a copy not working "because every hotel functions differently" is the same for any business or organisation. All are unique, and all function differently. Which is exactly what makes looking at generic type manuals such a waste of time. We were just trying to help you avoid confusion.

So if you're looking for 'more help', perhaps you could be more specific about exactly what kind of help you're looking for. The more informative and accurate the questions you ask, the better responses you get.

Hello,

if you are just looking for other examples of manuals the "Post attachment List" (see green Line on the top) maybe give you more ideas, because to get ideas any service if not production industry manual could give a clue.

Good Luck.

I do not think anyone will/should provide you his Operation Manual, for the reasons already discussed here by Andy and Jane B. Here I am attaching a copy of a 'Training Manual' for hotels. Hope this gives you some insight.
