Is ISO enough to satisfy these TQM approval questions?

Hi All

I am responding to a tender from the UK (I am in Australia). the questionaire asks the following questions, before these it asks if we hold any ISO certifications.

1. Does your Organisation operate a Total Quality Management Policy?
If ‘Yes’ then for how long? ..... months / years

2. Does your Organisation hold any Total Quality Management Approvals?

If ‘Yes’ then from which Authority?

Has anyone heard of TQM approvals (is this a UK thing)? We have been ISO 9001 certified since 1996. Could we use this certification and our quality policy here or are they referring to something else?

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Andy

Andy,
I understand TQM approvals to be more or less peer recognition from bodies such as IRCA and IATCA.
I have indeed come across a business excellence model approval from a QMS registrar.
Since TQM is (In the broadest sense) a recognized set of tools, techniques and philosophies. TQM unfortunately is merely viewed as a benchmark.
So to get back to your post:
A TQM policy would, align your ISO quality policy with a business excellence model and, an approval may come from your registrar, in the form of an acceptance of the intents of your excellence model integration with your existing QMS.
