ISO 17025: Lockout/Tagout Requirement

Hello Everyone!

We are a Cannabis Analytical Testing Laboratory. We're trying to get accredited for ISO 17025 and I am a bit unfamiliar with the lockout/tagout requirements for our type of lab. If we have the following instrumentation (listed below), would lockout/tagout be required? We were thinking about getting Lockout plugs for the back of each instrument (which are quite pricey), because the power cords seem to all be the same type and any cord can easily be used to power the instrument back on if we don't lockout the port in the back. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, we're currently having a tough time getting ahold of a ISO rep :(

Instruments:
HPLC
GCMS
LCMSMS
ICPMS

Thank you!

How did your ISO 107025 certification go? It's difficult to find information on Cannabis Testing Labs who have gone through the ISO approval process. I'd love to hear your experience and your thoughts on the process! Any information you provide would be valuable as we venture on the road of getting our Cannabis Testing Lab ISO certified!

Hi kk!

I basically disappeared after this post, sorry! ISO PTSD lol

It was a WILD ride. My team was not capable of doing 98%of the work, which I didn't know until after I was hired on but I got the lab accredited in 4 months! it was very rewarding to have learned so much in so little time. Our auditor was very pleased with the documentation and objective evidence for everything on our scope. I had to validate our methodology and support that with passing PT's as well as typing up all SOP's, QA manuals, management systems, conduct training with documentation, yearly LOD/LOQ's, statistical quality charts ...etc. I was mentally drained for maybe a month after but it was overall surprisingly easy and the auditor was very understanding. Although, we did have virtual audits, this year will be our first in person audit. Have you guys gone through this process yet?

Yeah, sort of, I delivered over 120 audit days last year alone, and I've had a client that is in the same business kinda, and they might be one of your clients.
