Hello All,
I have some questions about the requirements for the declaration. Are we to sort through every chemical used in our product to find the chemicals on the list, and then determine the amounts that are used? Im confused. The list is huge.

So easiest thing do is pass this down the chain as far as you can go. Usually technical data sheets supplied by the manufaturer of the product you are using with give the w/w percentages then if needed you can adapt from there. If you are buying in a product ready finished which contains SVHC materials ask your supplier to provide that info to you then you can make a list of all of the SVHC in your end product. I only use on SVHC on site now we shut all others off last year, the one i have left is apllied and supplied straight back into the manufacture of the SVHC themselves so its a worry i dont have ;). If you are in the UK its now got added supply chain actions with AFA number requirements for proof of application and traceability, basically we dont apply unless they give us the right codes and we cant buy unless we supply the right codes, so if somebody tells porkies they are responsible for their actions.

Its not made easy to find and action a lot of SVHC requirements especially if items get extended sunset dates. When a new chromate sunset date came in last year in the uk we removed everthing apart from the one process which there is only 2 links in the chain for us and our supplier and end user is one and the same and also being the manufacture with a specific grandfather clause from DEFRA here it is easily controlable. Biggest issue we have also had raised since is PFAS.
