Hi all
IATF 16949 in clause 8.3.4.4 states:
The organization shall establish, implement, and maintain a product and manufacturing approval process conforming to requirements defined by the customer(s).
The organization shall approve externally provided products and services per ISO 9001, Section 8.4.3, prior to submission of their part approval to the customer.

My question are:

1- As in clause 7.3.6.3 of ISO/TS 16949, is it necessary in IATF 16949 that the organization require its suppliers to use the same part approval process required by customer for the organization? Or,is it even a requiremen in IATF that the organisation shall have a documented process for part approval submitted by its supplier?

2- what is the reference of pronoun "their" in the above requirement? organization or others?

Thanks all

1: What you require your suppliers depends on you, if your customer does not have requirements on your suppliers.
2: IATF 16949 does not require you to have a documented product and manufacturing process approval process, unless your customer request so. But in 8.3.4 it require that f) documented information of these activities is retained.
3: "their" means suppliers

No, unless required by CRS.

"their" = organizational, not supplier (external provider). First you approve components provided by your supplier and then you ask for approval of your product including supplier's component. You don't ask customer for approval of your supplier component.
