ISO Standards recommended for Hotels - ISO 21401:2018 Tourism and related services — Sustainability management system for accommodation establishments

Hi,

Someone from a hotel business background asked me which ISO standards are useful for Hotels. I have come to determine that ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000 and ISO 50001 are the important ones. However, can someone share me his/her experience on this? Please tell me which standard is mostly applied to hotels around your local area?

You should have a look at the ISO Standards developed and maintained under their TC 228 - Tourism and related services. Despite the fact that several hotel chains have achieved 9001, 14001 and 50001 certification, I suspect that many progressive hotels will be interested in the upcoming standard ISO 21401- Accommodation facilities -- Sustainability management system -- Requirements

Hello there,

Currently, there are 21641 International standards published by ISO. However ISO 9001 (QMS) and ISO 14001 (EMS) are most common ISO Standards applicable for all business. ISO 22000 and HACCP Standards are well known standards for food safety and it can be useful for the business like hotel, restaurant and cafeteria.
