IT Instruction - use same formatting as ISO procedures?

Q

QAMTY

Hi everyone

I have my ISO 9000:2008

My bussiness is Engineering Design Consultancy
so My Real. Processes are develop Engineering, Starting up of
of Industrial, Plants,etc.

My support process IT,HR, etc.

Comments:

Normally I´m numbering my docs. like this:

WI-ENG-001 Working instruction for Engineering Dept.
PR-ENG-001 Procedure for Engineering Dept.

For the support processes, I´ll only develop a general Procedure for IT.

Now have the need to give to our customer a procedure
to allow them to access to our Intranet.

Questions:

Should I create an ISO document for that?
with assigned ISO number eg. IT-WIS-001.
I mean, even when my plan is not to create a lot of procedures, because
is not my core bussiness.

Would be enough a simple instructive or should I give it the ISO format
Purpose, Scope, Definitions, Responsibles, Procedure, etc..
only to give an IP address, username, password and general recommendations?

I assume that Purpose, scope, definitions.... is only for Wi´s and PR´s
not for checklist, or other simple instructions.

What is your standpoint?

Thanks

What you describe as "ISO format" is not an ISO format, it's your company's chosen format. You can use any format you choose. If you have a document that specifies the format for documents, you should use the specified format, or change the document to accommodate your present needs.

Re: IT Instruction Same ISO formatting?

Thanks Jim

You´re right, I called them ISO because all my docs of ISO
have that format.

But instructives or procedures for IT
should follow the same format (purpose,scope,responsibilities...)
or can be different?

Thanks

As Jim already indicated, whatever works for your company and its Employees. Yes, the formats, layouts can be different.

The only possibly hangup is what I suggested earlier--if the OP has a mandated format for QMS documents, that format will have to be used, or the requirements changed to accommodate different formats.
