Re: AS9100 Rev D Sequence and Interactions of Processes - How in depth do I need to g

Since I'm in the same situation as you, I thought I'd share what I've been working on.

I created a draft Core and Support Processes Document to provide a visual representation of our system (emphasis on DRAFT) per 4.4.2.

It’s not as detailed as some of the ones I’ve seen, but since I already have a Quality Document Matrix listing the Processes and supporting Forms, Work Instruction, QAPs, etc. for each, I'm hoping this will be suffcient as an overview of our QMS.

It's a work in process. :cfingers:

Good luck

Here's one that I posted here years ago for Rev B or C. The only difference would be the clause numbers referenced.

Process Map

I like that it shows the major interactions (inputs/outputs) between the processes. Each process would then have a turtle diagram to show more details of the inputs/outputs as well as the controls and metrics.

Here is what I came up with when creating our new map.

Great examples!

Does anyone have one with the PDCA cycle built in? I feel like I saw one in Quality Progress a while ago, but can't find it again.

I have a question about your process maps. I noticed that the examples provided in the thread list the clauses of the standard.

Is it a requirement to correlate the clauses of the standard to your processes? Why would it be necessary to link them together?

Adding clauses on the processes map helps to identified the clauses required to audit the process. It also serves as a reminder / tool that you have covered the minimum clauses for the process and in some cases supporting clause - Great tool to do internal audits.

It's not really required, but as dsanabria says it's useful to the people who would use the document.

If you have received your certification for AS9100D would you be willing to share the IOP you presented during your audit?
