An Oldie but Goodie - A Print Block from 1937

Have a look at the date on the drawing title block in the attachment. The drawing came my way today from a regular customer who has lots of old products, many dating back to the 1950s, but this is easily the oldest one I've seen. All fractions, of course, and no tolerance table.

The product this goes into is some form of electrical switching unit that also hasn't significantly changed in all this time.

Ah, yes. Hand drawn. Lettering is freehand. Lots of youngsters today have never seen an engineering drawing made by hand versus computer assisted drafting programs.

Even when I took my first drafting class back in the late 50's, we still used fractions down to 1/64. Line weight was SO difficult for me to control when we went from pencil to ink. When I finally graduated to a Rapidograph pen with interchangeable points, I was ecstatic. I don't think I had hands free of ink stains until 1995!
