Can you help me with the efficiency? I have a problem with this.

ISO/TS 16949 : 5.1.1 Process efficiency
Top management shall review the product realization processes and the support processes to assure their effectiveness and efficiency.

Efficiency definition - relationship between the result achieved and the resources used.

1.I'm looking for the efficiency indicator examples (not effectiveness but efficiency) for processes.
2.Does "resources used" mean: efficiency indicator need to contain cost element? need to be developed on cost basis?

Efficiency is impacted by anything the organization does that negatively affects the bottom line ($$$$$).

Some examples;
  • All non-value added work
  • Scrap
  • Rework
  • Resource utlization
  • Equipment utilization
  • Planned projections versus actual results
  • Etc.

Make this one easy. This ties directly back to your Quality Objectives, which are published and reviewed at Management Review. You needn’t more than that to comply to the clause. ;)

We use the OEE index for the production process efficiency measurement.
It is more related to the production realization.
Step by step of the production process youhave to
measure:
a) the theoretical production capacity of the process
b) the time not worked for forced stop ( not working days, holidays...)
c) The time of no production for not planning
d) time of no production for lack of material or personnell absence
e) stops for preventive maintenance
f) stops for machine brakes :here you can have more detailed description of the stops if internal or external causes (operator stopped intentionally the machine or intervent of
By the a) you can convert the times in pieces produced. a*(b+c+d+e+f+g)
G)Than you have the scraps ofthe process, the destructive tests from control
plan.
Finally you can have the OEE= N° piecesproduced/ theor capacity
