Simple ISO 9001:2015 Overview Presentation wanted

I was hoping one of my generous fellow covers may have a ISO 9001 overview presentation that I could use. I am looking for something simple that gives a little insight into the theory behind ISO and what is hoped to accomplish by following the standard. I had one I created years ago but for the life of me I cannot locate it. If you have one or know where I could get one from please post it.

Thanks all!

I would be interested in the same thing to be honest. We are looking at gaining certification to ISO9001:2015 and we are planning to start with some awareness sessions to roll out to the workforce, and a presentation like this would be very useful if anyone would be willing to share theirs. Thanks.

For what?

Who is the audience?

If it's Top Management, I plan to use our new quality manual for this purpose. Our quality manual incorporates the requirements. If I could get all top management to know that, I will deal with issues of where the manual and the standard are in conflict.

The general population don't need to know anything about ISO, IMHO. Management? Right on! Everyone else? Nope. Don't waste your breath on such an event, but tell them you are developing a QMS and it will be certieid. Tell them about THAT and merely mention ISO in passing. After all, you don't (need to) know the building codes the dude who designed your house had to use...

It will be used for Floor supervisor through top management. We are a financial processing company and 99% of the people have no idea what ISO is, the theory behind it or what full compliance constitutes.

I am a consultant to a company of about 200 employees. The company has been certified/re-certified since 2005 without break. Their latest certification as per 2008 version is due for re-certification & upgrade to ISO 9001-2015 in October 2016. Currently they have 9 trained internal auditors, whom I shall be addressing this week on Awareness about the revised version. The session is planned for 2 to 3 hours and will include the auditees as well.

The documents I have prepared for this purpose are quite simple; they include i) a quick refresher of 2008 version, ii) The main additions/changes as seen in the new version, and iii) the revised QMS, illustrated in the form of a map.

These documents have been prepared keeping in view the existing level of understanding and performance of the target personnel. Copies of these documents have been given to the attendees two days in advance so that they are able to study and come up with questions during the session. This will also help improve my own understanding.

I must add that the company has a very positive culture with regard to building quality in their products to the satisfaction of their customers in India and abroad.

Final word for those who are preparing for a presentation. If you have understood the standard well, and you understand your organisation equally well, please go ahead and prepare a presentation document that suits your own situation.

Good luck.

It's interesting that you say that the general population don't need to know anything about ISO. When a previous company I worked at went for ISO14001 certification, the auditor interviewed 15 people picked at random and asked them if they knew what ISO14001 was and what the company policy was and what it meant for them in their day to day activities. If we hadn't have done awareness sessions with everyone, we would have had an issue with this I feel.

They used to have to do that years ago for ISO 9001 and TS 16949. In the 1990's we had company wide meetings to introduce everyone to the standard.

Another good one was:

Auditor: What does the quality policy mean to you?

Of course the answer could have been anything. I remember one rather grumpy person in some company I was helping answered "Not a da-m thing". The auditor couldn't do a thing about it because there simply was no "correct" answer. Management wasn't amused, but the guy had been there like forever and they just let it go.
