Has ISO 9001:2015 been released as of 10 April 2014?

Two questions regarding ISO9001:2015

1) Is the ISO9001:2015 standard already released? or is it a draft yet?

2) If an organization certifies as ISO9001:2008 this year, how long will the certificate be valid? Will they have to migrate to 2015 rev immediately in 2015?

Thanks all for your responses!!!!

It's ISO 9001:2015. A Draft is out but no - It is not a finalized, released standard.

If it is released in 2015 they will have an overlap grace period for you to be audited to it. I don't know what it will be - But - It won't be a thing where an ISO 9001:2008 registration will be void on the release date of the 2015 version release. No cliff.

No worries, Luis. As Mark said, there will be a grace period where both the 2008 and 2015 issues will be valid. In the past, this period has always been three years.

As stated, the standard is 2008 version until 2015 (probably December) and the transition period is going to be 3 years from then. SO you should still get registered because you'll have nearly 4 years of potential benefit.

If I was you, I would get a copy of the 2015 Draft just so you know where ISO 9001 is headed.

ISO was selling the draft http://www.iso.org/iso/home/news_index/news_archive/news.htm?refid=Ref1765

But, apparently, they stopped it. The CD is no longer available from the ISO Store....We are getting now close to the release of the DIS. You might be able to find the CD version available for download in the internet, but, be aware, you would probably be doing intellectual property piracy, as ISO does not want the draft being circulated.
