Yeah, but my scanner is pretty terrific and when I print out a scan on one of my color printers, I'm hard pressed to tell which is which, except that sometimes the stamp ink will smear with a wet thumb!

Yes that is true. That is why I specified "we" (as in the company I am at), in which there are no color scanners (ok, not strictly true - the only color scanner is attached to my computer and can only be used under my username, for which the access is password protected).
Aso, that why I thanked Jeff Frost for his informative post - in case we need to go that route in the future.
