Hello Elsmar Forum Users,

The new IATF 16949 requirement is to have information about error-proofing in control plan. What kind of information regarding error-proofing should be there? Error-profing description, norm, information about process or measurement capability requirements? Do you have any practical experience with that?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Error proofing includes your red rabbits (Known Defect masters / challenge parts) that are ran periodically. Per IATF clause 10.2.4 error proofing is to be documented in control plans. Typically you would run red-rabbits at the start of each shift and document on production log. Challenge parts also need to be controlled. Controlled typically means identified and put into calibration system to be verified at some established frequency.
