Incoming (Receiving) Quality Control Laboratory for Raw Paper

One of our customers would like to set up an incoming quality control «lab» for paper. We supply him with kraft paper.

He is a converter who buys paper in rolls, applies a coating and sheet's it for sale to the automotive part packaging industry.

Does anyone have any experience assisting a customer in order for him to QC your own product? What are the does and dont's?

Also if anyone has specific experience in the paper, converting and packaging industry your comments would be greatly appreciated!

Thank's

Re: Incoming quality control

The main goal is to duplicate the testing you do at their location that relate to the quality of the final product. It leaves less variation from use of different devices, etc. when performing the testing. Any controls you have in your lab environment (for example humidity and temperature) would be good suggestions for your customer. Any sampling techniques (for example, dies and presses for die cutting standard samples, etc.) should be included in the wish list.

This is a rare opportunity - both to get on the same page with your customer and show your product knowledge expertise.
