Definition Nonconformity vs. Potential Nonconformity - Difference?

What is the difference between nonconformity and potential nonconformity?

Does potential nonconformity means there was a nonconformity but impact is not critical, or there was no nonconformity yet but if risks will not be addressed will become a nonconformity?

Any input?

A nonconformity has already happened. A potential nonconformity hasn't happened yet, but it might happen in the future if a preventive action isn't taken.
