Hi All

Back when students used to mostly go to physical training centers , We had a Training effectiveness assessment sheet in which the student would assess the trainer , the venue , the presentation material …

Nowadays most of our employees are performing Online trainings ( watching videos ) or are doing self trainings (eBooks) . Very few employees are going to physical training centers to attend training courses anymore

To give more details , Most of the trainings taken are taken because vendors Partnerships require our system engineers or sales people to be certified in some topics However some traiings are being done to improve the skills of the

I was wondering how you guys are assessing effectiveness of the Online/eBook trainings and complying with ISO 9001 clause 7.2 ?

Ca you share some templates or advices ?

Thanks in advance

You really need to ask - what were your objectives for conducting the training, and brainstorm - how would you "see" that the objectives were met? You could

Give tests (oral or written). This could include an exercise to review a document.
Interviews
Focus groups
Look at tasks and errors that should have been improved by doing the training
Talk to the people who took the training (!)
Commonly done (and not conclusive) is to check the time it took the person to complete the training. Did they just "click through it".
Include quizzes in the training
Qualification card (tasks to do and be observed doing).
Improvement on related performance metrics / KPIs.
Audit or Assessment by QA, training, or an independent third party
Management by Wandering Around observations

7.2 deals with the Competence of your employees, implicitly the employer has to ensure that any training provided is fit for purpose. This can be done by only using online courses which fall within a recognised professional scheme, e.g. IRCA for Auditors, IOSH for Health and Safety, this means that you are relying on the accrediting organisation to ensure that the courses are fit for purpose, but this is a reasonable approach. Vendor Partnerships should specify acceptable qualifications or training which would guide your choices.

but I would not say that Employee Evaluation of a course is a requirement of ISO 9001. It may be part of your internal processes (which is good) but this could be completed through the use of a Microsoft or Google Form internally. Even better, the feedback will come to your team rather than the course provider.
