Hi all,

Good day.

Could someone help me on method of defining permissible error for equipments? For equipment such as calipers i can get it from the first inspection report given by supplier but for equipment as conductivity meter, PH meter, Thermometer, Temperature and Humidity Chamber and etc... Is it compulsory to define permissible error for all equipment or do i have option to not to define. Thanks in advance

Re: How to define permissible Error for equipments?

I saw some uses tolerance (e.g. +/- 1), but not sure if this is allowed. Is there anything on the calibration certificate that states if there is a tolerance on the specified requirements?

Hi, I think is a must to determine the permissible error to guide us for the gage acceptance justification after calibration or verification. What I do lately is to get the info from gage supplier web page, std referred in the calibration service provider certificate. For some geges that we can't find the permissible error, we wil have to determine from process control limit. Hope this helps.
