Hello, me again!
I had a question that maybe you guys could answer regarding IATF16949 requirements of work instruction/documents.
The old standard (TS16949) calls out in 7.5.1.2
"The organization shall prepare documented work instructions for all employees having responsibilities for the operation of processes that impact conformity to product requirements"
The new standard (IATF16949) states in 8.5.1.2
"The organization shall ensure that standardized work documents are:
a) communicated to and understood by employees etc
b)legible
c) presented in the language of the personnel responsible to follow them
d) accessible for use at the designated work area(s).
My question is "does the new standard even require work instructions?". The standard has requirements for work documents such as legibility or communication IF you have them but unlike the old standard, it does not call them out. I know that AS9100D went away from work instructions. What are you thoughts?
P.S- Thank you to anyone that has answered my questions in the past, you have been extremely helpful!
