We use a Mahr Universal Measuring Machine. It has a digital readout to 5 microinch or 2x more accurate than the Model A supermic. The machine can measure plain plugs, ring gages, thread plugs and rings, gage blocks and mostly any linear master up to about 20" OD and 16" ID.
