Mining Nonconformance Data for Potential Missed Audit Findings

I have been tasked with a project to mine our nonconformance database for previously not identified audit findings. Since our NC database can be added to by any department, it does not reflect only audit findings. Below are the criteria I am proposing for my search. Please feel free to provide feedback on additional criteria, as well as any potential pitfalls if any of you have previously performed this type of action.

1. Nonconformances that should have been added to audit findings.
2. Multiple nonconformances that match internal audit findings.
3. Repeat nonconformances.

Why? This sounds to me like looking for a needle in a haystack...

Hey Andy, it's probably just another one of those ill used resource allocations coupled with some smoke and mirrors to help demonstrate the "Hey look at what we're doing" syndrome.

It's too bad that folks don't understand that a nonconformity is a finding, but only one type of a finding.
