How can a contract manufacturer that has nothing to do with the design function be responsible for 7.1a - quality objectives and requirements for the product?
One of the items noted under 7.1a is producibility. You, as a contract manufacturer certainly have an impact over the producibility of an item. For example, if the product has a dimensional characteristic with an extremely tight tolerance and you know that only one of the NC lathes you have can hold that tolerance within the specification, you must ensure that the traveler/router document used to control that product realization cycle must clearly inform the operators to machine that part in that specific lathe.
