AS9100D Registrar pre-audit requirements

I am working with a new AS9100D Registrar and they are requiring that "all internal audits need to be completed for the year." prior to their audit. Is this true? Does the AS9100D standard require this?

DUH! What if the audit is scheduled in Feb and your year starts in Jan? That's just dumb and Sidney called it right.

Thank you both. I recently accepted a new position with a new company so I did not select the registrar. I think I need to look into selecting a new one.

Chances are, there is background information you might not be aware of. Due to the pandemic, many organizations have failed to keep up their internal audit program in 2020. There might be a NC & associated CAR from previous year lingering on the issue.

Good luck.

We had an auditor make a similar statement several years ago, citing some training materials from DNV. He could not back it up when asked where in the standard this was, but gave us an NC anyway.

I wanted to appeal, but management did not. Management does not want to upset the auditor. This has happened with several auditors, although our current one was reasonable and had no questionable findings in our most recent audit.

Didn't want to upset the auditor? Poop on the auditor, and I've played this game, trying to clear some non-conformances and their corrective actions on requirements that appeared out of fresh air by someone no longer doing the work....Aggravating to say the least.
